Alan Brunton

Of Poetry
A long rain goes for a walk
on a still white page
precious water on this hot street,

distraction leads us on to on a day like this
in silence of the Quiet of Silences.

If I get us out of here,
will you marry me with all your strange arias?

Brunton

Alan Brunton couldn’t give his permission but he'd have wanted to be present. Alan travelled in Asia and Europe. He helped reshape NZ approaches to theatre and poetry. (1946-2002).
